Do we know Sicily? (really...)

Parco Museo Jalari

sunny -30 °C

Sicily is very well known as a touristic destination. Island has a lot to offer for travelers: ancient heritage and artifacts, wonderful weather and landscape. Cicero was astonished by Trinacria, Goethe wrote to his mother that Sicily is the key to understanding All Italy. But still there is a lot of unknown places, off the track of popular router. One of them I discovered Turing my stay In Barcellona Pozo di Goto, on the south of the Island. there is a wonderful Park – museum called Jalari In the Peloritanian mountains, established by two brothers Salvatore and Mariano Pietrini 30 years ago. At the beginning a lot of neighbors didn’t believe that they will succeed. Now Park has hundreds of visitors each year, a lot of cultural events and festivals, huge collection of 15,000 finds placed in the 42 artisan shops. They present how traditional jobs functioned years ago. Also tere is a lot inspired by mithlogy and other traditions sculptured made by Mariano Pietrini. Architecture is a collage of all influences (arab, greek, Roman).
At the time i visited Jalari it was full of people and Sun. Sky was pure blue, and palms gave smooth shadow. Some street artist had workshops, kids had ceramic classes. Now I’m Whiting for espressivamente –street art. Festiwal with music, show and performaces from All around the country.
